On-Site and Customer Surveys: Two surveys with different purposes
To gain insight into your customers’ needs and motivations, there are two types of surveys that are used in conversion research:
- On-site surveys allow questions to be posed to people as they are going through your website. Often the survey appears as people are just about to leave a website and seeks to find out why they’ve hesitated in making the purchase.
- Email surveys to current first-time customers will provide insight into why people did buy from you, what their experience was and how it might be improved.
Insight from customers is invaluable. Instead of guessing on why people are leaving the site, actual customer input is gathered, analyzed and the issues are identified.
